Effective August 1, 2017, electricity rates increased by 3.36 per cent for all customer classes. Answers to some common questions about our General Rate Application.

Current rates

Standard - Tariff no. 2017-01
Minimum monthly bill is the basic charge.
Monthly basic charge:
not exceeding 200 Amp $8.08
exceeding 200 Amp $16.16
Energy charge 8.196¢/kWh
Seasonal - Tariff no. 2017-02
Minimum annual bill is the basic charge.
Billed in April for the annual basic charge and past winter’s consumption (October 16 to April 15).
Billed in October for summer consumption only (April 16 to October 15).
Applicable to customers using less than 7,500 kWh per billing.
Annual basic charge not exceeding 200 Amp $96.96
Energy charge 8.196¢/kWh


Residential - Tariff no. 2017-03
Minimum monthly bill is the monthly basic charge.
The residential rate applies to all residential services in the diesel communities, provided the service capacity does not exceed 60A, 120/240 V, single phase.
Monthly basic charge not exceeding 60 Amp $8.08
plus energy charge 8.196¢/kWh

Natural gas

Since natural gas is a commodity that is traded on the open market, the price rises and falls according to supply and demand. Our natural gas costs are passed on to you without markup. To maximize your choice and value, we offer variable quarterly and fixed rate options to help you find a service that best suits your needs.

Effective November 1, 2017 Primary Gas will decrease to 8.31¢ per cubic metre from 9.21¢ as set on August 1, 2017.
