Engineering Entrance Scholarship

Paul Rydberg"It is an honour to receive the Manitoba Hydro Entrance Scholarship for Engineering. I was quite surprised and very pleased to be awarded this scholarship. Education is very important to me and I am looking forward to the challenges of Engineering. Secondary education costs are high. I have three siblings who have completed a secondary education and I am the last to attend. Both my family and I appreciate the financial support given to me by Manitoba Hydro.

I have heard many good things about Manitoba Hydro. I have been told that it is an excellent company to work for and I am looking forward to working for them as a summer student and as a possible future employee."

2010 Engineering Entrance Scholarship Recipient

Eligibility:

  • Entering Engineering at University of Manitoba immediately following High School graduation;
  • Highest High School Average.

Amount:

  • 1 scholarship $2,800 for student from Winnipeg;
  • 1 scholarship $3,000 for student from rural Manitoba;
  • 1 scholarship $3,200 for student from Northern Manitoba.

Application Process

The University of Manitoba Financial Aids & Awards office selects the students for each geographic area and notifies Manitoba Hydro. Award recipients are awarded in June/July.
