Generating Futures Scholarships

The Generating Futures Scholarships are $10,000 scholarships that are available to Manitoba's Aboriginal students registered in programs that will prepare you for an exciting job with us.

The number of Generating Futures Scholarships awarded will increase each year:

  • 2009 – 4 scholarships
  • 2010 – 6 scholarships
  • 2011 – 8 scholarships
  • 2012 – 10 scholarships

Students must be of Aboriginal ancestry, registered as a full-time student, and have a minimum 60 per cent course load in one of the programs listed below to qualify:

Degree Programs

  • Business (Majoring in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or Marketing);
  • Engineering (Majoring in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical);
  • Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

Diploma Programs

  • Civil Engineering Technology;
  • Electrical Engineering Technology;
  • Electronic Engineering Technology;
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology;
  • Instrumentation Engineering Technology;
  • Communications Engineering Technology;
  • Information Systems Technology;
  • Computer Analyst/Programmer.

Application forms are available through the Financial Aid & Awards office or Student Services or download an application form here.

We will only consider complete applications. The application form includes a Statement of Purpose which covers educational goals, career plans, financial need, and any community involvement you may have. You may also be asked to attend an interview.

Deadline for applications is October 1.

Scholarship funds will be sent directly to your college or university to cover the cost of tuition.
