If your payments are up-to-date, fill out and submit an EPP application form.
When can I start?
- Sign up at any time. EPP runs for 12 months, beginning in September and balancing out in August.
- Enroll between September and March and monthly instalments begin with your next bill.
- Enroll between April and August, and instalments begin in September (for the next full term).
- You will be automatically enrolled each following year.
How much will I pay each month?
- We project your energy costs for the upcoming term and divide that into 12 equal monthly instalments. This is based on the property's energy usage history.
- Monthly instalment amount may be revised (as your actual usage accumulates) to better balance at the end of the term.
How will my bill look?
- Monthly bill shows actual usage information for the current month in both units and dollars.
- EPP Summary section keeps current running totals of energy usage, instalments billed and the difference between the two. The difference (positive or negative) is applied to your August bill.
- EPP monthly instalments are for electricity and/or natural gas usage. Other charges, such as loans and rentals, are shown separately. Those charges are in addition to your monthly instalment(s).
- Amount Due is what you pay (your monthly instalment(s) plus any other charges due).
What else do I need to know?
- Regular meter readings are necessary for accurate usage information. Submit a meter reading.
- Energy use changes with the weather - more heating during colder winters and more cooling during hotter summers both may mean higher bills than projected.
- Natural gas rates fluctuate in a volatile market.
- Signing with a Primary Gas supplier will affect how much you pay. Find out about Purchasing Natural Gas.
- The condition of your furnace and other appliances affects energy usage. Well-maintained appliances generally use less energy.
- Being Power Smart improves the energy efficiency of your home and can help lower your bills.
- You can combine equal payments with the Pre-Authorized Payment Plan, epost™, or MyBill.
