To be eligible for Feasibility Study Assistance and/or a System Installation Incentive, customers must receive written approval from Manitoba Hydro before starting the feasibility study and/or system installation.
Customers that have started a feasibility study and/or system installation without written pre-approval from Manitoba Hydro will not be eligible to receive any financial incentives. Customers that have installed geothermal heat pump systems in the past are not eligible for any financial incentives from Manitoba Hydro.
Financial incentives provided by the Commercial Earth Power Program:
For qualifying feasibility studies, Manitoba Hydro provides assistance up to 50 per cent of the first $5,000 and up to 25 per cent of the remaining cost of the study (to a maximum grant of $10,000 per study). On average, a feasibility study costs approximately $2,400.
The amount of the assistance will be limited to 20 per cent of the potential System Installation Incentive.

The System Installation Incentive is based on a prescriptive structure, and is calculated as being the lesser of:
