The program is aimed primarily at non-profit, non-government organizations including citizen, school, youth, conservation, cultural, heritage, environmental, community and service club groups and higher educational institutions. These organizations are eligible for funding for tree planting, forest education and innovative forest projects.
Note: Individuals, land owners, for-profit organizations, commercial forestry operations, federal, provincial and local government agencies are not directly eligible for funding of tree planting and forest education projects but may participate through partnerships with non-profit, non-government organizations.
Any individual or not-for-profit organization may apply for funding of innovative forest projects.
Repeat applicants are encouraged to apply for new projects in new locations.
