Evaluation Criteria

Submissions must:

  • demonstrate the positive impact the project or environmental initiative has had on the environment;
  • illustrate direct involvement of Aboriginal people or non-Aboriginal people working in partnership with Aboriginal communities;
  • show how education was part of the project/initiative.

Submissions may also relate to activities such as hunting, fishing, gathering and trapping that provide opportunities for youth and Elders to interact on the land.

Evaluation Process:

A panel from the Aboriginal and environmental communities and Manitoba Hydro will evaluate and select outstanding entries from the submissions received. This panel will select initiatives that best meet the spirit of the evaluation criteria. Nominees/applicants will be notified of the results. All entries are public information, and summaries of the selected submission will be published. Individuals who are members of the evaluation panel are ineligible to apply.
