Caribou Studies
Environmental studies on caribou have been underway since the late 1990s, in cooperation with Manitoba Conservation. The information gained from these studies will help us determine where the final preferred right-of-way for the Bipole line will be located.
Boreal woodland caribou are a protected species. Manitoba Hydro wants to make sure that our activities do not further threaten the woodland caribou in Manitoba. Studies will continue even after the project is approved, as the data will aid the provincial government in developing action plans for recovery and sustainability of this species.
