Wind-Powered Generation

Our generation portfolio is nearly all self-renewing waterpower with almost 98 per cent of the electricity being produced by the hydroelectric generating stations on the Winnipeg, Saskatchewan, Laurie, and Nelson rivers.

Since the early 1990s, we have been assessing the feasibility of adding wind power to our portfolio of energy supplies.

Through the St. Joseph and St. Leon wind farms, along with community-owned small wind projects, we continue to explore alternative energy supplies.
