Project Development Agreement
The Wuskwatim Project Development Agreement (PDA) between Manitoba Hydro and the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation (NCN) is the formal agreement between the two parties that outlines the roles and responsibilities of each for the construction and operation of the generating station. The PDA provides for NCN to own up to 33 per cent of the station.
PDA negotiations concluded in March 2006 and the agreement was approved in a referendum of NCN members in June 2006, with 64 per cent of the community voting in favour of the project.
