On January 15, the Pre-Hearing Conference was held at the Manitoba Public Utilities Board (PUB) offices in Winnipeg. The PUB heard applications for intervener status, heard submissions in favor of and opposed to a written hearing process with no oral hearing component, and also considered a timetable for the orderly exchange of evidence leading up to an Order by the PUB.
On January 28th, the PUB issued Order 13/10 granting intervener status to the Consumers' Association of Canada (Manitoba) Inc. and the Manitoba Society of Seniors (CAC/MSOS) and Just Energy (Manitoba) L.P. (JEMLP). The PUB also established a timetable and process for the public hearing of Centra Gas Manitoba Inc.'s 2010/11 Cost of Gas Application.
Please refer to the PUB website at www.pub.gov.mb.ca for further details of PUB Board Order 13/10.
On December 18, 2009, Centra Gas Manitoba Inc. filed its 2010/11 Cost of Gas Application with the Public Utilities Board. In its application, in conjunction with the change in non-gas costs approved by the PUB in Order 128/09, Centra has applied to the PUB for approval of a rate increase of approximately 1 per cent or $10 on the annual bill for a typical residential customer, effective May 1, 2010.
The timetable for the proceeding will be confirmed at a Pre-Hearing Conference, to be held at the PUB's offices on January 13, 2010.
