Signs of Carbon Monoxide
Be aware of any of the following signs of carbon monoxide in your home:
- A CO detector that alarms. If it alarms, you MUST REACT. Never unplug it or remove the batteries. Do you suspect carbon monoxide poisoning?
- Stuffy, stale, or smelly air.
- Condensation on your windows (more than usual) may be an indication.
- Sooting around a fireplace, chimney, or other fuel-burning equipment.
- Backdrafting of your fuel-burning equipment.
- A pilot light that keeps going out.
- An unfamiliar or burning odor in your home.
