How to Take Part

Here are the requirements to take part in the Power Smart Energy Manager Program:

• an individual employed by the division, who is dedicated solely to the Power Smart Energy Manager Program;
• the commitment and active support of senior administration to efficient energy usage;
• a commitment to energy savings reporting to Manitoba Hydro.

It is expected that a Power Smart Energy Manager will reduce operating costs significantly enough to pay their salary, and provide for additional savings that can be redirected to other areas.

Our contribution

When you participate in the Power Smart Energy Manager Program, we will provide:

• assistance with hiring, startup and implementation;
• technical training and support;
• support in establishing and maintaining an energy accounting system to track resource consumption and costs;
• informational material for classroom use;
• salary financing over 5 years, with the option of no payments in the first year.
