Eligibility

To participate in the Commercial Kitchen Appliances Program:

  • you must be a Manitoba Hydro customer eligible for the General Service electricity or natural gas rate;
  • you must be the end user of the appliance (i.e. not a vendor, manufacturer or installer);
  • the appliance must be new, ENERGY STAR qualified, and listed on Manitoba Hydro's eligible product list;
  • only appliances with higher energy efficiency ratings than your existing appliance will be considered;
  • both replacement and new construction projects are eligible; pre-approval is not required.

To qualify for a steamer rebate:

  • the steamer must be used for a minimum of 2,920 hours per year;
  • new replacement steamers must use the same fuel as the older ones being replaced (electric for electric and natural gas for natural gas).

To qualify for a fryer rebate:

  • the fryer must be used for a minimum of 5,840 hours per year;
  • only natural gas fryers are eligible; both the older model and the new replacement model must use natural gas.

Eligible product lists:

* Please note that the electric fryers listed on the eligible product list DO NOT qualify for Manitoba Hydro's rebate program. Only natural gas fryers are eligible.
