The amount of money you receive depends on which Power Smart lighting products are installed, and how much electricity is saved.
To qualify, a customer must be billed at Manitoba Hydro's Electrical General Service Rate, and operate lighting at least 2,000 hours a year.
As in all Power Smart programs, the Commercial Lighting Program (CLP) benefits all of us. You save energy dollars, as well as improve the quality of your lighting, boost productivity, solve process problems, lower maintenance costs and increase equipment life.
Manitoba Hydro benefits when you use less electricity because we can defer the cost of building new dams and transmission lines, and export any surplus power to help keep our rates among the lowest in the industrialized world.
