Electrical lighting studies provide essential lighting service and technical training. Training is provided through seminars on various topics including maintenance, efficiency, quality and troubleshooting of lighting systems, while providing incomparable technical support.
On-site visits are conducted by a skilled Manitoba Hydro engineer who tours the customer’s facility to review existing systems, address any concerns and identify opportunities for improvement. This includes an assessment of the current lighting and an opportunity to review various power quality problems associated with new lighting technologies.
In addition, Manitoba Hydro is involved with research and development providing expertise and guidance in the application of new technologies and the technical advice necessary for various pilot projects. Manitoba Hydro has been involved in projects with the University of Manitoba, NRCAN (Natural Resources Canada) and CEA (Canadian Electrical Association).
