ecoENERGY Evaluations
The deadline to complete your federal ecoENERGY post-retrofit evaluation has been extended to June 30, 2012. The pre-retrofit evaluation and upgrades must have been completed by March 31, 2012, and you must have all receipts.

Post-retrofit evaluations that are performed by these companies are eligible for the reduced evaluation cost and the Power Smart top-up grant.
To be eligible for an ecoENERGY grant, you must:
- Have obtained a registration number from Natural Resources Canada prior to January 28, 2012. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the registration cut off, please contact Natural Resources Canada at 1-800-622-6232.
- Have obtained a pre-retrofit energy evaluation before March 31.
- Completed the energy efficiency improvements prior to March 31, 2012.

Have a post-retrofit evaluation completed and sign a grant application form before June 30.
- The cost of the post-retrofit evaluation is $125 plus GST. The cost is reduced to $25 if the property qualifies for estimated federal ecoENERGY grants of $400 or more.
Most homeowners receive their federal cheque within 90 days after their post-retrofit evaluation.
Topping up qualifying grants
We will top up federal grants offered under the ecoENERGY Program by 20 per cent, to a maximum of $1,000. Qualifying federal grants as of June 6, 2011 and later are eligible for the top-up, which will be applied as a credit to your energy bill. You will receive their top-up grant approximately 30 days after your ecoENERGY grant cheque has been processed.
Customers who are eligible for grants under the federal ecoENERGY Program may also qualify for:
- rebates through our Power Smart Home Insulation Program;
- financing through our Power Smart Residential Loan Program.
- financing through our Power Smart Residential Earth Power Loan.
Participating in the ecoENERGY Program does not automatically qualify you for Power Smart Programs as they each have their own requirements.
