To get the most value for your renovation dollar, we encourage customers to carefully plan any energy efficient home improvements. We offer three options for home energy evaluation:
- Power Smart ecoENERGY In-Home Energy Evaluation
This evaluation is a simple and effective way to find out how much energy your home uses and how you can make it more energy efficient. Specific energy improvements done to your home may qualify for a federal ecoENERGY grant. To qualify, the pre-retrofit and post-retrofit evaluations must be completed.

A Manitoba Hydro contract energy advisor visits your home and performs a pre-retrofit evaluation, which includes questions and tests to determine how much energy your home uses. The advisor also provides energy saving recommendations. Once the recommended improvements are completed, a post-retrofit evaluation is required.

- Mail-in Energy Assessment Survey
Includes a customized energy efficiency report and suggestions for energy efficient improvements based upon self-reported information. (Does not qualify for the federal ecoENERGY grant.)
- Costs $19.99 plus
