Choose Silver or Gold to build a New Home that is smart from the start!
Silver includes:
- R-50 attic insulation with raised heel truss;
- R-20 foundation insulation;
- ENERGY STAR programmable thermostat;
- High efficiency natural gas furnace, electric furnace or geothermal heat pump;
- Air tightness of 2
ACH;
- Low flow shower head;
- Energy efficient lighting (preferred option) or choose one:
- ECM (electrically commutated motor);
- HRV (heat recovery ventilation);
- Permanently wired car plug timer;
- Electric hot water tank (min 2" insulation).
- Gas fireplace with electronic ignition (preferred option) or choose one:
- ECM (electrically commutated motor);
- HRV (heat recovery ventilation);
- Electric hot water tank (min 2" insulation);
- Energy efficient lighting in every room.
Gold includes:
- R-50 attic insulation with raised heel roof truss;
- R-24 foundation walls;
- R-26 above grade exterior wall (electrically heated home only);
- ENERGY STAR programmable thermostat;
- High efficiency natural gas furnace, electric furnace or geothermal heat pump;
- Electric hot water tank with 2" insulation;
- Draft proofing – air tightness of 1.5
ACH;
- Heat Recovery Ventilation System (HRV);
- Low flow shower head;
- Permanently wired car plug timer;
- Energy efficient lighting (preferred option) or choose one:
- ECM (electrically commutated motor);
- HRV (heat recovery ventilation) efficiency upgraded.
- Gas fireplace with electronic ignition (preferred option) or choose one:
- ECM (electrically commutated motor);
- HRV (heat recovery ventilation) efficiency upgraded.
Gold level customers are also eligible for:
- A Manitoba Hydro customer incentive
A voucher for up to $1,000 towards the purchase of a front-loading washing machine OR $600 rebate on a Manitoba Hydro energy bill.

CMHC incentive
A 10 per cent rebate on CMHC (Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation) mortgage loan insurance premium and eligibility to extend the amortization period with no additional mortgage insurance premium surcharge.
- An EnerGuide for New Homes label
This rating provides information on the energy efficiency of the new home. It enables comparison with other homes that have EnerGuide ratings.
