Residential Propane and Oil Furnace/Boiler Replacement Program

The cost to replace your propane or oil furnace will pay for itself in as little as three years with the money you save on your energy bill.

This program is a way for us to provide our customers with an option for a more affordable energy source that is also a more environmentally friendly, renewable, alternative fuel source.

Why should I upgrade my oil or propane furnace or boiler?

A natural gas furnace with a minimum 92 per cent AFUE and a DC variable speed motor, a natural gas boiler that has a minimum AFUE of 85 per cent, or an electric furnace or electric boiler is an economically and environmentally responsible choice for your heating system because they:

• use less energy, which helps conserve non-renewable resources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions;
• accumulate savings over the lifetime from lower energy use;
• cost less to operate;
• have more efficient motors and fans than standard efficiency systems.

While savings vary for every home, the average Manitoba Hydro customer will see savings of up to $1,700 each year in addition to the $245 rebate.
