Eligibility

You are a good candidate for a solar water heating system if you have:

• a south-facing roof or wall that has minimal shading from other buildings or trees;
• moderate to high level of hot water consumption;
• an interest in alternative energy sources and having a positive impact on the environment.

To be eligible for the Residential Earth Power Loan:

• You must have an active residential solar water heating system;
• the home must be owned by the applicant and must be their principle residence or their tenant's principle residence;
• the home must be detached, semi-detached, or a mobile/modular home on a permanent foundation with a permanent water supply, and intended as a residence;
• the system must use solar hot water collectors that meet CSA Standard F378 or equivalent;
• the system must be installed by a participating contractor.
