What is Power Smart?

Power Smart is our energy conservation strategy designed to assist customers in using energy more efficiently. Its objective is to meet energy needs through efficiency improvements rather than through new sources of generation.

Since we first started offering energy efficiency programs in 1989, it's estimated that Manitobans have:

• prevented over 890,000 tonnes of carbon equivalents from being released into the atmosphere;
• saved about $275 million on their energy bills.

Power Smart initiatives promote a wide variety of energy efficient products, services and programs, which deliver energy savings to Manitobans.

Power Smart products last longer, reduce maintenance and labour costs, and improve living and working environments.

Power Smart programs create awareness of how customers can get more for their energy dollar. With a focus on customer service, Power Smart programs are available to residential, commercial and industrial customers.
