Pre-authorized Payment Plan

With our Pre-authorized Payment Plan, monthly payments are automatically withdrawn from your bank on the payment due date. You must be a Manitoba Hydro customer with an account in good standing. You will continue to receive bills with the dollar amount and date of your withdrawal for your records.

You can change the amount being withdrawn, but on an exception basis. Call 204-480-5900 or 1-888-624-9376 at least 3 business days before the due date. Any balance will appear on your next bill and will be included with your current charges on your next withdrawal. Balances of $20 or more are subject to a late payment charge. If there is not enough money in your bank account, a second attempt will be made in 5 to 10 business days. If the second attempt fails, we will send you a written notice and charge a $20 NSF fee, along with any applicable late payment charges. Your financial institution may also charge you NSF fees for each attempted withdrawal. If you have NSF fees with us 2 months in a row, your pre-authorized payments will be cancelled. You can combine pre-authorized payments with the Equal Payment Plan and MyBill.

Moving

Let us know the date of your move as soon as possible. If you stay in Manitoba and your banking information does not change, your application is valid. Your Manitoba Hydro account number will change with your new account and your withdrawal date may change. We will ensure your final bill deductions stop at the appropriate time and your new account is set up with the appropriate financial information.

How to cancel your Pre-authorized Payment Plan

If there is more than one authorized signature on your bank account you must cancel in writing and all parties must sign:

  • online;
  • email;

  • provide written notice to your Customer Service Centre;
