Northern Student Award

We offer $300 awards to 3 Indigenous students.

  • Students must be in junior or senior high school, and living north of the 53rd parallel;
  • A teacher must nominate each student based on academic performance, personal achievements, and other accomplishments.

Physics Award

We offer a $200 award to 1 Indigenous student.

  • Student must be from Fox Lake, Nelson House, Split Lake, War Lake, or York Factory communities;
  • Enrolled in Physics 30S or 40S;
  • Academic performance, community involvement, and career interests are considered.

How to apply

  • Physics teachers will nominate their most successful student who is willing to self-declare as being of Indigenous descent.
  • Download and complete the application (PDF, 36 KB) or pick one up from your guidance counsellor.
  • Include cover letter, resumé, and transcripts with application.
  • Submit your application via mail, email, or fax to Recruitment & Diversity.

Application deadline is July 15.

Trio Awards

We offer 3 awards to 3 Indigenous students with:

  • academic performance or demonstrated improvement (by grade) in the completion of Mathematics (Applied or Pre-Calculus), English, and required level of Science:
  • $200 award for Grade 10 (20S Math, English, and 20F Science);
  • $300 award for Grade 11 (30S Math, English, and Physics);
  • $500 award for Grade 12 (40S Math, English, and Physics).
