Program Recruitment

Recruitment for the Southern Aboriginal Pre-Placement Program occurs every Spring in which 8–10 candidates are hired from various communities South of the 53rd parallel. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

For consideration, all applications must include the following information:

  • Current resume and cover letter;
  • High school and any post secondary school transcripts or training certificates;
  • Proof of aboriginal ancestry.

The selection process includes aptitude testing, panel interview, and a one day Skills Assessment and Trade Orientation session. Those candidates selected for an interview must provide a current driver's abstract at the time of their interview. If requested, interviews can be conducted in most Aboriginal languages.
