Manitoba Electrical Museum & Education Centre

The Manitoba Electrical Museum & Education Centre is a non-profit organization. Since opening in December of 2001, we are dedicated to sharing the on-going story of Manitoba’s electrical development, while educating people about how electricity is produced and delivered. The Electrical Museum provides tours and programs to a wide variety of visitors, including international travelers, community organizations and school groups.

Help tell the story of electricity in Manitoba

Volunteering is a rewarding way to give back, share your talents, meet new people, and share information with others. Help keep the Electrical Museum operating for future generations to enjoy.

Volunteers contribute to every aspect of activity at the Electrical Museum, and strive to create an enjoyable learning experience for visitors.

At the Electrical Museum visitors of all ages can:

  • travel through the pre-electric days;
  • find out about the first uses of electricity in our province;
  • peek into a 1940s kitchen;
  • learn how generating stations are built in Manitoba;
  • get a glimpse into present and future electrical development.
