Fire pits

A damaged gas line can be a serious safety risk. Ensure your fire pit is not above an underground natural gas line.

Before you install a below-ground fire pit, call or click before you dig to arrange line location.

We will inspect and mark your property for underground electrical and/or natural gas lines. Identifying the location of underground natural gas and electrical equipment will help prevent damage that could cause service outages, costly repairs, environmental pollution and personal injury or death.

Always consider the location of your fire pit in relation to the overhead power lines on your property. Never situate it directly under a power line. For more information on open-air fire pits, check with the City of Winnipeg Zoning and Permits Branch or call Winnipeg 311. Contact your local municipal office if you are outside of Winnipeg.
