Through our Enhanced Building Operations Program, we will guide you on how to find ways to save energy in your existing building, and how to fix ongoing problems with systems and equipment.

Common energy savings come from improvements to operations, maintenance, control strategies, and systems. With the help of program funding, you can recover project costs and see the savings sooner. Typical projects save about 10% of total building energy costs and cover installation costs within 2 years.

The process to find energy savings is called retro- or recommissioning. During commissioning, building systems are designed, installed, tested, operated and maintained to verify and record that all needs are being met. Recommissioning puts a building through the process again, following a change in operations or needs. Retrocommissioning applies the process to a building for the first time.

Calculate your incentives

We offer financial incentives to pay a portion of the professional building consultant’s fees for their work during the first 3 phases of the program. Maximum incentive dollars are calculated based on the occupied and heated floor area of the building.

The building area must be a minimum of 35,000 feet2 or 3,252 metres2 to qualify for incentives.
