To maintain the reliability of Manitoba’s electricity system, we are planning a new 230-kilovolt transmission line to support the province’s aging high-voltage direct current (HVDC) infrastructure.
Known as the Radisson to Henday transmission line (R44H), the proposed line will run approximately 42 kilometres between the Radisson and Henday Converter Stations. It will be built within an existing right-of-way corridor and include electrical connections at both stations.
This project addresses the growing limitations of aging infrastructure and the need for increased transmission capacity between northern converter stations. By reinforcing this critical segment of the HVDC system, the R44H line is expected to enhance overall system reliability and reduce the risk of service interruptions.
