Pre-authorized Payment Plan

More in this section

Our Pre-authorized Payment Plan can make managing your account easier by automating your bill payments. You’ll still get a copy of your monthly energy bill, and the amount due will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account on the payment due date. You can combine pre-authorized payments with the Equal Payment Plan.

How to apply

If you’re a Manitoba Hydro customer with an account in good standing, you can apply at any time:

  1. Sign in to your online account.
  2. Select ‘Apply for Pre-authorized Payment Plan.’
  3. Enter your banking information.

If you don’t have an online account, download an application form (PDF, 91 KB) to apply, or phone 204-480-5900 or 1-888-624-9376 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday.

How to change or cancel your payment

You can change the amount being withdrawn, but on an exception basis. Call 204-480-5900 or 1-888-624-9376 at least 3 business days before the due date.

Any outstanding balances will be included on your next bill and will be withdrawn on the due date listed. Balances of $20 or more are subject to a late payment charge. If there is not enough money in your bank account, a second attempt will be made in 5 to 10 business days. If the second attempt fails, we will send you a written notice and charge a $20 NSF fee, along with any applicable late payment charges. Your financial institution may also charge you NSF fees for each attempted withdrawal. If you have NSF fees with us 2 months in a row, your pre-authorized payments will be cancelled. Read more about what to do if you can’t pay your bill.

You can cancel your Pre-authorized Payment Plan at any time through your online account. If you do not have an online account:

If there is more than one authorized signature on your bank account, you must cancel in writing and all parties must sign.
