Our Pre-authorized Payment Plan can make managing your account easier by automating your bill payments. You’ll still get a copy of your monthly energy bill, and the amount due will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account on the payment due date. You can combine pre-authorized payments with the Equal Payment Plan.
How to apply
If you’re a Manitoba Hydro customer with an account in good standing, you can apply at any time:
- Sign in to your online account.
- Select ‘Apply for Pre-authorized Payment Plan.’
- Enter your banking information.
If you don’t have an online account, download an application form (PDF, 91 KB) to apply, or phone 204-480-5900 or 1-888-624-9376 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday.
If you need to change your banking information
Submit the changes through your online account or email us a scanned image of a new cheque.
If you are moving within Manitoba but your banking information is not changing, your Manitoba Hydro account will update with your new address and with the same banking information. Your payment withdrawal date may change based on the timing of your move.

With your online account, you can see your bills and update your banking information at any time on our website or by downloading our app.
How to change or cancel your payment
You can change the amount being withdrawn, but on an exception basis. Call 204-480-5900 or 1-888-624-9376 at least 3 business days before the due date.
Any outstanding balances will be included on your next bill and will be withdrawn on the due date listed. Balances of $20 or more are subject to a late payment charge. If there is not enough money in your bank account, a second attempt will be made in 5 to 10 business days. If the second attempt fails, we will send you a written notice and charge a $20 NSF fee, along with any applicable late payment charges. Your financial institution may also charge you NSF fees for each attempted withdrawal. If you have NSF fees with us 2 months in a row, your pre-authorized payments will be cancelled.
