Water levels near Pine Falls to drop October 14-18 due to maintenance

This article was published in October 2018 and may be outdated.

Residents along the Winnipeg River, between the Pine Falls and Great Falls generating stations, may see lower than usual water levels October 14-18 as Manitoba Hydro conducts maintenance work on two turbines at the Pine Falls Generating Station.

The Pine Falls forebay will be drawn down by approximately 0.3 metres (approximately one foot) October 14 and will remain down for the duration of the maintenance work. Water levels will return to normal levels no later than October 18.

The reduction will also affect Winnipeg River tributary levels between the Pine Falls and Great Falls stations.
