Trades and technology trainees work in a range of crucial roles across the province. Our tradespeople work no matter the time, place or weather to make sure the power stays on and the gas is flowing. The entire team serves the community by ensuring we deliver safe, reliable energy.

Get paid to learn!

Our paid technical and trades-related training programs provide the opportunity to get job training and work experience leading to journeyperson status and post-journeyperson development.

Indigenous & women’s pre-placement programs

We have pre-placement programs for Indigenous and women candidates who do not meet the minimum academic qualifications of our power line technician, power electrician or mechanical technician training programs. These pre-placement programs provide:

  • paid academic upgrading
  • on-the-job training experience

These are six to 12 month programs with no guarantee of continued employment upon completion.

Technology training programs

We offer two-year technology-related training programs that include guided field experience gained by rotation through various departments and approximately 1,100 hours of classroom and hands-on learning.
