A planned outage is a temporary, scheduled power disconnection. It allows our crews to perform essential work such as upgrading aging equipment and clearing trees from power lines safely to help prevent future unexpected outages.
Much of our infrastructure is decades old and can be weakened by age and corrosion. While this equipment remains safe to operate, shutting down the system during maintenance ensures the safety of both our crews and the public.
We’ll notify you of planned outages via text, email or automatic phone message if you have an online account.
