Happy Holidays

As we come to the beginning of the holidays and the end of this year, I’d like to wish you a very happy holiday season on behalf of all of us at Manitoba Hydro.

Being new to this province as well as Manitoba Hydro, I’ve spent a lot of time in these first few months meeting and listening to employees, learning about Manitoba Hydro and its customers, hearing about what matters most in this province. I’ve been welcomed into Manitoba with open arms, and I thank you for your kindness. I will continue to listen and learn to ensure we meet your energy needs well into the future.

Speaking of the future, it’s arriving fast! A lot of things are changing, including how energy is produced, delivered and used by customers like you. One thing that won’t change is our commitment to provide safe, affordable, reliable energy to the benefit of all — customers, interested parties, and everyone who calls Manitoba home. As you enjoy the warmth of the holiday season, we are always working to fulfill our promise of Energy for Life.

As we look ahead into 2025, we’ll need to make some decisions about how to meet the increasing need for energy in Manitoba. That could mean new facilities to generate electricity and rehabilitating older facilities so they can continue to serve us for many years to come. We’re looking forward to exploring options for our energy future and reporting back to you next fall with the results of our Integrated Resource Plan. You can keep up to date with this process.

Safety is our top priority in everything we do at Manitoba Hydro, not only for our co-workers but also our customers, neighbours and in all the communities we serve. Stay safe this holiday season: I look forward to meeting more of my fellow Manitobans in the new year.

Sincerely,
Allan Danroth
President and CEO, Manitoba Hydro

Manitoba Hydro operates throughout Manitoba, on the original territories of the Anishinaabe, Anishininew, Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. We also acknowledge the ancestral lands of the Inuit in northern Manitoba. The legacy of the past remains a strong influence on Manitoba Hydro’s relationships with Indigenous communities today, and we remain committed to establishing and maintaining strong, mutually beneficial relationships as we move forward in the spirit of reconciliation.
