At our High Voltage Test Facility (HVTF), we offer high-voltage engineering and testing services to qualify equipment in accordance with industry standards (IEEE, ANSI/NEMA, IEC, ASTM, and CSA). Opened in 2012, our HVTF is considered one of the most advanced testing facilities in North America.
Our professional engineers and technicians are industry experts with more than 40 years of experience in insulation testing and diagnostics on a variety of materials and electrical apparatus. We provide high-quality and cost-effective testing, right here in Winnipeg.
We tailor our testing services to meet the specialized needs of electrical utilities, equipment manufacturers, heavy industry and academic research institutions.

Test equipment capabilities
Performing A.C. qualification Testing on a 500 kV “Class A” aerial lift device in accordance with CSA C225-10.
Our main test hall is 41 m × 38 m with a 19 m clearance between the floor and the 10-ton bridge crane.
800 kV AC series resonant test supply

3-phase 190 kV 4 MVA transformer test system
- variable frequency from 40 Hz – 200 Hz with less than 5% THD
- high-accuracy power measurement system for load and no-load loss
- filters to facilitate partial discharge measurements
