Scholarships and bursaries for women

We provide funding for women pursuing full-time studies in Engineering, Trades, or Technology career streams. All applicants must self-declare as women.

We accept post-secondary applications annually from September 1 to October 15.

Maria Stanson Memorial Scholarship

We offer a $1,500 scholarship to 1 student who self-declares as a woman. You must:

  • Enrol in Engineering at the University of Manitoba immediately following high school graduation.

Selection is based on the highest average high school grade. The University of Manitoba Financial Aid & Awards office selects the students with the highest average high school grade and notifies us.

Recipients are awarded in June/July.

First year Engineering bursary

We offer a $1,500 bursary to 1 student who self-declares as a woman. You must:

  • Be enrolled in your first year of studies at the University of Manitoba in Engineering (biosystems, civil, computer, electrical, or mechanical) or a member of the Engineering Access Program (ENGAP);
    OR
  • the Bachelor of Arts (Pre-Engineering) at the University College of the North.

Academic performance, home community, financial need, and community involvement are considered in the selection process.

The application period is from September 1 - October 15.

Second year to final year Engineering bursary

We offer $2,500 bursaries to 2 students who self-declare as women. You must:

  • Be enrolled in their second year to final year of Engineering (biosystems, civil, computer, electrical, or mechanical) studies at the University of Manitoba or a member of the Engineering Access Program (ENGAP).

Academic performance, home community, financial need, and community involvement are considered in the selection process.

The application period is from September 1 - October 15.

Engineering, Trades, or Technology bursary

We offer $1,500 bursaries to 3 students who self-declare as women. You must:

  • Be enrolled in one of the following programs:
    • Business Analytics major;
    • Computer and Information Systems Technology diploma;
    • Computer Science degree;
    • Construction management degree;
    • Data Science degree;
    • Engineering (electrical, computer, civil, mechanical, or biosystems);
    • Engineering Technology (civil, communications, electrical, electronic, instrumentation, mechanical, or power);
    • Management Information Systems major;
    • Network Administration Technology diploma;
    • Bachelor of Arts (Pre-Engineering) at the University College of the North.

Academic performance, home community, financial need, and community involvement are considered in the selection process.

The application period is from September 1 - October 15.

Awards, scholarships & bursaries
