Enrolment period

You can sign up during the enrolment period from November 7 to December 1, 2023, or until the offering is fully subscribed. Contracts are accepted on a first come, first served basis and availability is limited.

Why is the availability limited?

Manitoba Hydro assumes a certain level of risk associated with entering into a fixed rate natural gas contract with you. In order to manage exposure to the risks associated with offering the Fixed Rate Service, Manitoba Hydro reserves the right to limit the availability of any offering.

Eligibility

All Manitoba residential/commercial small general service (SGS) and large gas service (LGS) class natural gas customers are eligible to participate in our Fixed Rate Service, as long as you are not currently under contract with an independent gas marketer.

How to enrol

Enrol by downloading and printing one of the following Fixed Rate Service contracts (i.e. Small Volume or Large Volume contract). Before you fill out a Fixed Rate Service contract, read the Guide - Purchasing Natural Gas in Manitoba (PDF, 58 KB).

Customers consuming 5,000 m3/year or less of natural gas: Small Volume contract (PDF, 340 KB).

Customers consuming more than 5,000 m3/year of natural gas: Large Volume contract (PDF, 262 KB).

Prior to sending in a completed and signed Fixed Rate contract, be sure to make a copy for your records. Manitoba Hydro requires the original Fixed Rate contract.

If you are not sure which of the above contracts to fill out, please contact us for more information.

Choosing a fixed rate may or may not result in cost savings over the contract term. The best way to guarantee cost savings is by reducing the amount of natural gas you consume. Find out about ways to reduce your energy consumption.
