Starting this spring, our meter readers will be sporting some new styles when they’re at work in your community.
You might be used to seeing meter readers in blue jackets and shirts, but now you can identify our staff by their brand-new, high-visibility orange uniforms, complete with the Manitoba Hydro Utility Services (MHUS) logo. Employees will continue to carry their official identification cards with name and picture.
The new uniforms include summer and winter versions that all feature the MHUS logo to make our employees immediately identifiable in the field.

“The orange uniforms match more with other employees, such as power line technicians and gas service workers,” said Troy Slater, who works on the MHUS team. “Now everyone will know that we’re Hydro and we’re all wearing the same uniform.”
The new look, which has been rolled out in stages over the past six weeks, was primarily adopted to make high-visibility wear part of meter readers’ day-to-day uniform.
“The new uniforms simplify everything and help keep everyone safe,” says MHUS manager Ryan Didoshak. “The new uniforms simplify everything. Our employees are automatically ready for any scenario requiring high-vis personal protective equipment.”
If you’re still not sure that it’s us, our employees will be happy to confirm their identity when entering your property. Here are some more tips to help you identify our employees.
