Manitoba Hydro working to restore remaining outages after storm
Please keep your distance from crews for their safety and yours
Manitoba Hydro repaired more damage from the severe storm and restored power to thousands more customers last night. This afternoon there are about 350 outages affecting about 4,500 customers, mostly in and around Winnipeg.
Crews continue to assess incoming outage reports and focus on fixing damage that will restore power to the greatest number of customers. Some damage is not accessible until large fallen trees can be safely removed.
We are aiming to have all outages with large numbers of customers restored by tonight, but smaller outages are too numerous and widespread to provide accurate restoration times. Some customers may remain without power into tomorrow.
Crews from other parts of the province are in the Winnipeg area to assist with restoration, and all crews are working to safely restore power as quickly as possible. Customers who see Manitoba Hydro crews at work should not approach or direct questions at them. These are active and potentially hazardous sites. For your safety and the safety of our employees, please keep your distance.
As we complete some repairs, we may need to take short, localized outages so crews can work safely. We keep these outages as brief as possible.
Due to extensive storm damage, estimated times of restoration (ETRs) have been temporarily removed from Manitoba Hydro’s outage map, and we’ve paused outage notifications.
Customers can avoid some delays by checking their service mast. If the electrical service mast attached to your house has been damaged, it must be repaired by a licensed electrician before power can be safely restored.
