Internationally-educated engineers – Career Development Program
With our partnership with the University of Manitoba Internationally-educated Engineers Qualification Program (IEEQ), we support the development of internationally-recognized engineers in their pursuit of reaching academic qualification and professional designation through Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM).
The partnership offers bursary awards, student co-op placements, and the Career Development Program to internationally-educated engineers enrolled in the University of Manitoba’s IEEQ program.
The program is coordinated by our Internationally-educated engineers – Career Development Program Committee that consists of electrical, mechanical, and civil engineers, and HR professionals. The committee is assisted by the University of Manitoba’s IEEQ program director to deliver the following:
- disbursement of $2,500 bursaries awarded annually to 2 students.
- co-op placement opportunities from May to August on an annual basis for IEEQ students.
- recruitment of up to 2 student(s) per year who have successfully completed the IEEQ Program.
IEEQ students should contact the IEEQ office at the University of Manitoba for bursary award eligibility requirements. The deadline for bursary applications is January.
All co-op placement opportunities are coordinated through the IEEQ program office. The recruitment process usually begins in January and the work terms run from May to August. The Career Development Program selections are made in August.
