Today, Centra filed its response to the completeness review conducted by the Public Utilities Board of Manitoba on Centra’s 2019/20 General Rate Application filed November 30, 2018. The submission and all associated attachments can be found on the 2019/20 General Rate Application page.

November 30, 2018

Today, Centra filed its 2019/20 General Rate Application with the Public Utilities Board of Manitoba. In its Application, Centra is seeking changes to Supplemental Gas, Transportation (to Centra), Distribution (to Customers) Sales and Transportation rates, effective August 1, 2019.

If approved, the annualized bill impact of the proposed rate change is a decrease for the typical residential customer of approximately 6.2% or $42 per year, based on an annual consumption of 2,246 m3. The annualized bill impact for larger volume Sales Service customers ranges from decreases of 19.7% to increases of 0.8% depending on customer class and consumption levels.

October 23, 2018

On October 23, 2018, the PUB issued Order 143/18 approving changes to natural gas rates for all gas consumed on or after November 1, 2018. The rates effective November 1, 2018 reflect an increase in the cost of Primary Gas from 8.02¢ per cubic metre to 8.32¢ per cubic metre.

The annualized bill impact of the November 1, 2018 rate change for a typical residential customer, based on an annual consumption of 2,243 m3, is an increase of approximately 0.9% or $6 per year. The annualized bill impact for larger volume customers ranges from increases of 1.2% to 2.2% depending on customer class and consumption levels.

July 20, 2018

On July 20, 2018, the PUB issued Order 93/18 approving changes to natural gas rates for all gas consumed on or after August 1, 2018. The rates effective August 1, 2018 reflect an increase in the cost of Primary Gas from 7.62¢ per cubic metre to 8.02¢ per cubic metre.

The annualized bill impact of the August 1, 2018 rate changes for a typical residential customer, based on an annual consumption of 2,243 m3, is an increase of approximately 1.2% or $8 per year. The annualized bill impact for larger volume customers ranges from increases of 1.5% to 3.0% depending on customer class and consumption levels.

April 26, 2018

On April 26, 2018, the PUB issued Order 55/18 approving Centra’s application to maintain the current Primary Gas rate at 7.62¢ per cubic metre for all gas consumed on or after May 1, 2018.

January 19, 2018

On January 19, 2018, the PUB issued Order 16/18 approving changes to natural gas rates for all gas consumed on or after February 1, 2018. The rates effective February 1, 2018 reflect a decrease in the cost of Primary Gas from 8.31¢ per cubic metre to 7.62¢ per cubic metre.

The annualized bill impact of the February 1, 2018 rate changes for a typical residential customer, based on an annual consumption of 2,243 m3, is a decrease of approximately 2.1% or $14 per year. The annualized bill impact for larger volume customers ranges from decreases of 2.4% to 4.9% depending on customer class and consumption levels.
