Round 4 Environmental Assessment Consultation

The main purpose of Round 4 EA consultation for the Bipole III transmission project is to present the preliminary preferred route and to provide an opportunity for stakeholders and the public to:

  • Review and comment on the preliminary preferred route;
  • Identify potential concerns or effects;
  • Discuss mitigation measures to minimize or avoid potential effects of the project on people and the environment.

Round 4 of the EA consultation process included stakeholder meetings, community and regional open houses, and landowner information centres (LICs). LICs provided an opportunity for affected landowners to discuss the project one-on-one with Manitoba Hydro representatives.

Regional Open Houses were held in communities generally in the vicinity of the preliminary preferred route. Manitoba Hydro representatives were on hand to answer questions and discuss concerns.

Community Open Houses and Leadership Meetings were held with First Nation and Northern Association communities. Manitoba Hydro representatives were on hand to answer questions and discuss concerns.

Meetings were held with identified stakeholder groups that Manitoba Hydro previously met with as a part of Rounds 1 through 3 of the EA consultation process, including rural municipalities in the vicinity of the preliminary preferred route.

Landowner Information Centres (LICs) provided an opportunity for a landowner whose property is affected by the preferred right-of-way or located within 1/2 mile of it, to discuss concerns one-on-one with Manitoba Hydro representatives.

Comments and questions are always welcome.
