Keewatinohk Converter Station
Keewatinohk Converter Station is located on the Nelson River, northeast of Gillam. Accommodations at Keewatinohk Lodge provide a home away from home experience for site workers:
- spacious private rooms, each with a full-sized bed, ensuite washroom, television with free cable, desk, and free internet;
- kitchen and dining facilities that provide healthy meals prepared fresh on-site, featuring a central dining room, outdoor patio, bistro, and lounge.
If you are interested in employment for this project, you must use the Job Referral Service set up by the provincial government’s department of Jobs and the Economy. You must renew with the Job Referral Service every 6 months to keep your registration active.
Hiring for the construction of the Keewatinohk Converter Station is ongoing and is directed by the terms of the Burntwood/Nelson Agreement.
Riel Converter Station
Riel Converter Station is located just east of Winnipeg. Hiring for the Riel construction is done by the contractor(s). Should you have any inquiries regarding available opportunities, please contact contractors directly.

The transmission line will run from Keewatinohk to Riel. Construction will run seasonally with winter construction (November to April) in the north and summer construction (May to October) in the south.
